ASDAN

Certificate in Community Volunteering

Already working as a Volunteer? Interested in going further?
Keen to have your skills recognised? Thinking about paid work?
Then the Volunteer Passport may be for you!

This qualification is offered at Level 1 and Level 2

Student working

  • The course involves putting together a portfolio of your voluntary work, by highlighting the skills and knowledge you are already using in your role.

  • Using the day-to-day tasks you undertake as an example of your work, you complete the units set out in the CVQ, covering both performance and knowledge criteria.

  • Course material and information is available to support you, plus guidance from your Assessor, Leanne Cleaveley, covering Eastbourne, Hailsham, Seaford, Newhaven, Lewes and District.

How long does it take?

  • It depends on how much time you can commit to your CVQ - it is a flexible course to suit your timetable. However, the quicker you complete, the sooner you will achieve a qualification of great worth!

About the CVQ

  • The CVQ is for people who are committed to volunteering and want to be accredited for their achievements at Levels 1 - 3.

  • The CVQ provides a means to recognise and accredit voluntary and community activities and acts as a passport to your future, be that more voluntary work, further training or paid work.

What sort of things would I be doing?

  • A wide choice of units are available including preparing and carrying out activities including Fundraising, Teamwork skills, Development and Community skills as well as Time Management, for example working in a shop, warehouse or hospital.

  • Students wishing to explore their creative side could take a further course in Interior Design, Decorative Painting Level 1 or Jewellery Making.
